How to use this resource
This template works brilliantly across all subjects and key stages 3 to 5. At the start of your lesson, ask students to list the key vocabulary or concepts and rate their confidence using the traffic light key. Revisit the grid at the end of the lesson so they can re-rate and track progress. It's particularly effective for identifying misconceptions early – encourage students to flag any 'red' keywords so you can address them in follow-up lessons or interventions. The action planning column helps students take responsibility for their own learning, whilst giving you valuable formative assessment data.
