Role-play practice: 12 topic cards

This resource is a bank of 12 role-play cards in the style of the GCSE exam – ideal for assessments or for speaking practice. Each card relates to a different topic and is divided into a student's role and a teacher's role. The topics are those likely to be covered at key stage 3, so they could be used to prepare students for the format of the exam as well as for Foundation revision at key stage 4. The student task includes a scenario with five prompts, including a question prompt and an unprepared element. The teacher's script can be read out by a partner and covers everything that needs to be said in German for conducting the role play.
